What Makes The Best Type Of Person Is The Most Honest And...

Throughout history humans have both depended on and struggled with both manmade and religious beliefs. Beliefs of which have allowed our understandings of life, power, and civilization. Stories of Gilgamesh written by Herbert Mason, Sophocles Antigone, and Thucyides by Paul Woodruff date back from as early as 420 BC. These stories demonstrate the meaning of life and the purpose of civilization. Civilizations of which, have been built around justice. The best type of person is an admirable one. The capability to learn lessons and gain mental and physical strength while undergoing a hardship is what it means to be admirable. An admirable person is able to act with justice because they have gone through hardships and have evolved their character to be self-aware Gilgamesh is the most honest and good because he comes to recognize himself, who he was, and who he wishes to be. As a king who not only witness’s death, but suffers and grieves at the loss of a loved one and friend Enkidu Gilgamesh learns throughout his journey how to overcome the loss of a loved one, the meaning of life, as well as becomes aware of past and present decisions-therefore making him admirable. Unlike Gilgamesh, the play Antigone portrays a king who is selfish throughout the entirety of the story, making him not admirable.
